Established in 2002, the team united through a mutual undying desire of creating extraordinary music that is both piercing and revolutionizing the music game.

OwnIt® consists of MC/ Producer/ Engineer Germel Hutchinson, who goes by "The Man of Steel", DJ/ Producer/ Engineer Daniel Linares aka DL Smooth, and DJ/ Producer/Promoter, Anthony Bowen-Allen, better known as DJ 280.

They all caught the music bug at an early age. Growing up in the mean streets of Jamaica, Queens, The Man of Steel found his refuge from drugs, violence, and gangs, through music. His dream of becoming an amazing producer led him to meet DL Smooth, a vocalist from Bellerose, Queens, who had a niche for audio technology and computers. The two began creating their own original music in their very own studio, along with two others in a performing group entitled On Our Own.

The group found the name OwnIt® while visiting their contemporary mentor and producer Freedom Lyles. Meanwhile, born businessman DJ 280, stepped onto the scene managing the aspiring group, but a series of unfortunate events took a terrible turn for the group. Left with only The Man of Steel, DL Smooth, and DJ 280, the three began producing original beats and recordings at the studio. Soon the trio decided that the magic they created could no longer remain in one location but must be shared throughout the world... hence the beginning of OwnIt® Music Entertainment.

OwnIt® Music now sits atop an elite roster of artists on the hip-hop scene as well as artists who are breaking into the industry.
